Formulating Geographic Research Questions and Hypothesis
Assignment: You will collaborate with your peers using this Canvas discussion board to formulate geographic research questions and hypotheses about geography patterns and processes
Response: Global warming is often a key subject , especially during the current presidential campaign, but the candidates have said little on how they plan to help slow or reverse the process. If this is a worldwide issue, I wonder how the scientist from so many countries work together to analyze the depth of the problem. I have read that glacial erosion has been linked to global warming, but how do scientists determine the age of glaciers? What evidence do scientists have about the age of glaciers? Finally, is glacial erosion a symptom or a cause of global warming?

Reflection
This assignment was initially difficult and took me a few days to understand how I was supposed to come up with a creative research question. However, the professor was pretty clever in that he gave us key words to help us form the question. Words like "evidence," "determine," "symptom" or "cause." This assignment directly correlated to the student learning objective in that it required each student to think about an issue and come up with a question that would lead to significant and substantial research.
